DISCOVER SHARING JESUS

Discover with your Family

Gather your family and ask these questions of everyone…

What is something you wish someone else would share with you?

What is something you find easy to share? What is something that is difficult to share?

How do you show someone you love them?  With words? Without using words?

Discover through the Bible

What does it mean to be lame?

In Acts 14:8-18, we hear the story of Paul being involved with teaching and a healing of a lame man.

Who healed the lame man?

What did the crowd think had happened?  How did Barnabas and Paul try to correct them?

What are your God sightings – where you have seen God at work?

The man who was healed must have been so excited to be able to walk, run and dance again!  Do you like being active, too?

Try having an active prayer time!

  • Run, or roll if you are in a wheelchair, and thank God for the gift of your body!
  • Jump or wave your arms and share praises with God.
  • Get low to the ground and tell God and an “I’m sorry”.
  • Spread your arms wide and receive God’s forgiveness.
  • Create a still pose and listen to what God has to say to you.
  • Bunny hop, or choose a creative movement as you say prayers for your family, friends, teachers and leaders.

Paul and Barnabas were only some of the people who shared the news of Jesus with others.  What is one way you can do that, too?  How would you do that with words? How would you do that without words?

If you were going to explain what the gospel is to a friend who didn’t know anything about it, how would you do it?

Here are some really cool ways to summarize who Jesus is in our lives.

Head outside with your sidewalk chalk and draw along with the Butterfly gospel.

Do you prefer to create paper airplanes?  Take some paper outside, and follow the directions in Paper Airplane Gospel .  The gospel in a paper airplane!

*Many thanks to Kristen Raney and Grace Kids from Grace Church in Kansas City, KS for use of their Sidewalk Gospel Activity Sheet and Paper Airplane Gospel.

Reel Family Time
