CBOQ Kids launched this resource in 2019 as a way for churches to provide some fun faith forming activities to families for the summer, particularly as families travelled and engaged in other activities throughout the summer. You can access last year’s resource here.

We are pleased to once again offer a Take Out Church resource. This resource is being created in a season when a global pandemic is keeping us home. We have taken into consideration the possibility that families may not be traveling this summer and have altered the content, delivery and theme accordingly. This year’s theme is based on our  CBOQ Kids Creation Care Daycamp.

Flat Jesus is a fun way to be reminded that no matter where we are, Jesus is with us! While families may not necessarily be traveling too far from home this summer, there are still many ways we can have fun with this resource. Print this out and snap pics with Flat Jesus wherever and whatever you do this summer. If you post to social media be sure to use #cboqkids! You might also want to add #flatjesus and #takeoutchurch

Optional Ideas

While this year’s resource has been created in a way that does not require any additional items or kits to put together, depending on your context and where health and safety guidelines allow, you may choose to add to the experience for families. One fun way might be to create a “Family Bucket of Fun”. If resources and safety permit, consider filling a sand bucket full of some fun objects like a blow up beach ball, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, nature observation journal, etc.

What about a Sundae Sunday in a bucket? Fill a bucket with all the fixings for ice cream sundays and deliver to families!
