Book Review
Reading A Light to Share felt like sitting around a campfire, listening to stories of people who dared to live out their faith in everyday, creative, and courageous ways. Authour Natalie Frisk introduces us—and in particular, our kids—to twelve Jesus-followers who shared the light of Christ with the world in ways that feel both meaningful and possible.
What I love most about this book is that it doesn’t just tell stories—it sparks imagination. Whether it’s through starting a peace club, speaking up for others, teaching science, or creating a podcast, each person shows that faith isn’t just about belief—it’s about action, calling, and community. These are not just “heroes of the faith” in the abstract—they are real people who remind children (and adults) that they, too, have something to offer.
The storytelling is simple and engaging, and the illustrations are bright and full of life. But more than that, this book carries a deep encouragement: that God’s light in us isn’t meant to be hidden. It’s meant to be shared.
If you’re a parent, pastor, or ministry leader looking for a way to help children explore how they might live out their faith with purpose, A Light to Share is the a great book to read.
Perfect for Sunday school shelves, bedtime reading, or sparking intergenerational conversations about calling, courage, and community.
